Ghana Tourism Authority in collaboration with Cocoa Processing Company Limited (CPC), manufacturers of Golden Tree Chocolate is set to distribute free Chocolate bars at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) to commemorate this year’s Chocolate Day celebration.
Addressing guests at the official event for the celebration at the National Theatre earlier today, Mr. Akwasi Agyemang, Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Tourism Authority emphasized on the need for the celebration, as it helps us to promote locally produced chocolate and other essential products made from Cocoa in the country.
On Tuesday, 9th January, 2007, late Hon. Jake Otanka Obetsebi-Lamptey, who was then the Tourism and Diasporan Relations Minister announced that, Valentine’s Day, February 14, would be celebrated as Ghana’s National Chocolate Day.
He made this announcement at a media launch of the day, saying that it would be a major part of the Ghana@50 celebration.
