As part of the National Tree Planting Day celebrations, the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) observed the day with a tree-planting exercise at the Head Office on Tuesday, 7th June 2024.
This year’s celebration theme is Growing for a Greener Tomorrow”.
The tree planting exercise was led by the Minister of Tourism Arts and Culture, Hon. Andrew Egyapa Mercer and was supported by the Board Chair of GTA and the Chief Executive Officer, Hon. Seth Adjei-Baah and Mr Akwasi Agyeman; all planting trees to commemorate the occasion.
Also present were the Deputy CEO of GTA in charge of General Services, Mr Ben Anane-Nsiah, the Director of Human Resources at the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mr Vitus Otto Langmagne, Chairman of the Local Union of the Public Service Workers Union (PSWU) of the Trades Union Congress (TUC) of GTA and Miss Comfort Aniagyei, also a staff of the Ghana Tourism Authority.
Some of the trees planted included the umbrella, coconut, and mango trees, among others.
