Minister-designate at the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Hon. Andrew Egyapa Mercer has stressed on the need for effective collaboration and unison in the dispensation of the duties of the agencies under the sector. He made these remarks when he met the Board Chairpersons of some agencies under his designated sector on Tuesday 16th April 2024 at the Ministry.
While deliberating on how the agencies could bridge the gap in collaborating with sister agencies in their work, Hon. Mercer suggested periodic meetings such as work retreats, as a key driving factor for internal collaboration in corporate governance.
The delegation also shared the need to ensure that the culture of tourism is promoted among the youth, by the government offering logistical support to students in second cycle and tertiary institutions.
Hon. Mercer said that the Ministry will continue to consult with officials in the sector to ensure the immense potential of arts and creativity is tapped and fully utilised.
