The Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Hon. Dr. Ibrahim Mohammed Awal has interacted with the Board of Directors and Management of the Ghana Tourism Authority at the Head office on Tuesday, 11th July, 2023.
In his opening remarks, the Board Chairman of the Ghana Tourism Authority, Hon. Dr. Seth Adjei Baah expressed his appreciation to the Hon. Minister for taking time off his busy schedule to interact with the Board and Management. He assured the Minister that with an unwavering commitment to the industry, the Board will continue to work closely with managent and the private sector to achieve their targets.
The Hon.Minister, Dr. Awal charged management to work assiduously to ensure that they meet their target of 1.2million tourists arrival (both domestically and internationally) with a corresponding 2.5bn dollars of Tourism receipts by the end of the year. He assured the Board and management that his outfit is working very hard to address the challenges confronting the tourism sector in due course. The Minister advised management to collaborate with each other, work harmoniously and be candid to achieve the set goals in order to make Ghana a one stop tourist destination in the sub region.
Present at the meeting were the Chief Director of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mr. John Yao Agbeko, the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Tourism Authority, Mr. Akwasi Agyeman, Board Members of GTA, the Deputy Chief Executive Officer in charge of Operations, Mr. Ekow Sampson, and Head Office Directors.
