Hon. Andrew Egyapa Mercer has said that the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MoTAC) will continue to support the Ghana Tourism Federation (GHATOF) to the best of its ability. The Hon. Minister made these comments when a delegation from GHATOF called on him at the Ministry on Tuesday 16th April 2024.
GHATOF over the years has provided leadership for addressing issues related to tourism, functioned as the private sector advocates for tourism in Ghana, and collaborated with all relevant organisations.
Salient among the reasons for the courtesy call was to appeal for funds to support their operations, discuss the tax burdens experienced by the sector as well as capacity building programmes needed to build their human capital.
While noting their grievances, Hon. Mercer shared the need to introduce digitalisation and digital skill training in their capacity-building programmes.
He pledged his commitment towards ensuring that the Ministry and its agencies received the required leadership and direction to aid proper policy implementation.
