The Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture held its third quarter staff durbar on Tuesday, 3rd September 2024 at the Exhibition Hall of the National Theatre of Ghana.
The purpose of the meeting was to inform staff about a change in the bureaucratic head of the ministry, bid farewell to the outgoing Chief Director, Mr John Yao Agbeko and welcome the new Chief Director Mr. Robert Patrick Ankobiah.
Hon. Andrews Egyapa Mercer, Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture said it was important to inform staff of the change in leadership. He said he had a pleasant working relationship with the outgoing Chief Director over the months he assumed office at the Ministry. He added that Mr John Yao Agbeko had been cooperative, supportive, open and transparent since he told him he did not like to work in the shadows and looked forward to a candid working relationship with him. He thanked him for offering support to the work of the Ministry and Ghana at large.
The Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Hon. Andrews Egyapa Mercer welcomed the incoming Chief Director to the Ministry and indicated that he also had a lot to offer taking into consideration, his rich experience and background in terms of the positions he had held. Hon. Andrews Egyapa Mercer called on staff to offer their maximum cooperation in the same way that they did to Mr John Yao Agbeko. He called on the Chief Director to impart the knowledge and the experience acquired to the staff of the Ministry since they take inspiration from leadership.
He also advised staff to be accommodating, hardworking and proactive.
